On this occasion, we would like to point out once again the procedure that is mandatory for applying for an SA/DA or BSc/MSc thesis.
If you would like to write a thesis at the Department of Automotive Engineering, please do not contact Prof. Müller, but a research assistant (WM) who is to supervise the thesis.
When inquiring, please be sure to describe your course of study, your qualifications and knowledge, so that a suitable assignment to open topics can be made at short notice.
A topic for the thesis is determined jointly, i.e. suggestions can be made, but the formulation of the topic as well as the focus of the work is the responsibility of the university.
Once the topic has been roughly outlined, the student registers the thesis with the Examinations Office (PA).
The supervisor will inform the PA of the exact title and the task upon request. The PA will then officially forward this in a letter to the student and prescribe the exact time for completion.
There is the possibility (possibility does not mean that this is an enforceable right) to write the thesis outside the TU Berlin, e.g. in an industrial company. It should be noted that in the future, no blocking notes or other regulations on confidentiality beyond the usual obligations of secrecy and due diligence will be accepted on final theses (Faculty Council resolution of April 6, 2016).
In principle, there is also the possibility of carrying out external final theses.
In cooperation with our partner "DEKRA Lausitzring" there is the possibility to do so in the area of driver assistance systems.
Possible topics would be:
A preceding internship, in which wishes and abilities are addressed and accordingly a topic is adapted to the students, is also possible.
