Study and teaching

The courses offered by the Chair of Automotive Engineering include lectures, exercises, so-called integrated lecture or exercise courses, seminars as well as Bachelor and Master theses.

The lectures are aimed first and foremost at students of the "Transport Engineering" course of study with a specialization in automotive engineering (design, testing, calculation, safety). Almost half of the students come from other courses of study, e.g. mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, technical-scientific teaching. In the courses, students are offered more than technology. Automotive technology is embedded in a historical retrospective, in the social environment, in future requirements and in future traffic concepts. Cars and the environment and cars as components in networked transportation systems are topics that contain, but transcend and classify, the field of automotive engineering.
