Special Programs & Information for Free Movers

  • In addition to our own exchange programs, we at Student Mobility & International Students work together with various partner organizations to offer you the opportunity to apply for certain special programs. Applications for most programs should be submitted through our office. Please check the pages of the individual programs below for further details. 
     
  • We have also put together here information about various scholarship opportunities for so-called "free movers" looking for financial support for their project. Free movers are students who organize their studies abroad independently of their own university's exchange or cooperation agreements. As free movers, students are required to organize their accommodation abroad as well as payment of their tuition fees themselves Tuition fees can be covered in part or in full by Auslands-BAföG, DAAD scholarships or other scholarship programs (see below). You need to apply directly to these organizations regarding scholarships.

Special programs

Reinhardt Abraham Student Funding (RASF)

The Reinhardt Abraham Student Funding (RASF) program was set up in 1996 at the instigation of Boeing and Lufthansa.
It offers particularly dedicated students at Technische Universität Berlin and the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, training and exchange programs to supplement their studies.

ENHANCE European Education Pathways

European Education Pathways (EEP) are a new and innovative study offer and exchange program of the ENHANCE alliance.
They are intended to make it as flexible and easy as possible for students to complete a stay abroad as well as internationalize their studies.

Fulbright Commission

The Fulbright Program offers funding for researchers and students as part of an academic and intercultural exchange with the USA.

Naumann-Etienne Foundation

The Naumann-Etienne Foundation offers funding for students of Technische Universität Berlin. Scholarships are awarded to students to complete a one or two-year master’s degree at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

Alliance4Tech

TU Berlin established the “Alliance4Tech” (A4Tech) European initiative together with CentraleSupélec Paris, Politecnico di Milano and University College London. The goal of the alliance is to create a European campus without borders for its students and faculties.

DAAD scholarships

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers a wide range of scholarship options for students, graduates, PhD students and postdocs.

IIE scholarship database for the USA

The Institute of International Education (IIE) provides a scholarship database of scholarship programs at universities in the USA. You should apply directly to eligible institutions.

Federation of German-American Clubs

As part of its student exchange program with selected universities in the USA and Germany, the federation enables about 20 American and 20 German students each year to spend a year studying in the respective host country.

Arnold Heidsieck Scholarships

Arnold Heidsieck Scholarships support one to two-semester study stays at American universities. The scholarships are intended for undergraduate humanities students enrolled at a German university.
