Transnational Education and International Knowledge Transfer

Our work

Transnational Education and International Knowledge Transfer coordinates and advises on establishing TU educational offers abroad as well as the internationalization of university continuing education offers in the context of the international training of specialist staff.

In this context, we support conceptualization and networking with university and non-university partners, especially in the MENA region and the Global South. We provide support for staff and academic chairs at TU Berlin when applying for third-party funding as well as advising on quality assurance and processes when setting up and running new projects.

Essentially, our work focuses on the following:

  • Transnational education (study offers abroad) aimed at helping increase the number and quality of offers in tertiary education. The initial focus here is on developing follow-up concepts for the Central Institute El Gouna and the Center for International and Intercultural Communication.

  • International training for specialist staff (international continuing education)

  • International knowledge transfer aimed at developing capacity building for and with non-university partners

  • Scholars at risk, focusing on continuing education as a means to integrate academics from and in conflict regions

#StandWithUkraine

TU Berlin condemns Russia's military attack on Ukraine as a violation of international law. We have close ties with the country through our scientific cooperations and our thoughts are with our colleagues there as well as the people of Ukraine. TU Berlin set up the "Berlin-Ukraine" assistance fund to provide direct funding for Ukrainian researchers and students.

Bridge IT

The BridgeIT support program for scholars at risk was set up in 2022 to offer language courses and preparatory courses for doctoral students as well as offers to help prepare for the labor market. Coordination for BridgeIT and the entire INTEGRA program is the responsibility of Transnational Education and International Knowledge Transfer, a newly-established section within the Department of International Affairs.
