The Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (Expertenkommission Forschung und Innovation – EFI) provides scientific advice to the German Federal Government and periodically delivers expert opinion on research, innovation and technological productivity in Germany. The first commission report will be presented in February 2008. It will contain a comprehensive analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the German innovation system in international and temporal comparison. Furthermore, Germany’s perspectives as a location for research and innovation will be evaluated based on the latest research studies. Proposals for the optimisation of national research and innovation policy will be an essential part of the report.
