The integrated course "Internet Economy" consists of a lecture and a seminar. In the seminar, practical specialist knowledge is imparted by a guest lecturer from the economy and the students work in groups on a question about the internet economy. The lecture also provides theoretical specialist knowledge.
The course is based on the book: Internetwirtschaft - Das Geschäft des Datentransports im Internet / Rüdiger Zarnekow, Jochen Wulf, Falk von Bornstaedt Gebundene Ausgabe - ISBN: 9783642366864 - Verlag: Springer Berlin (Link).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the following changes will result for the module Internet Economy in the coming winter semester:
The lecture is provided asynchronously on ISIS in the form of videos. In addition to the kick-off dates, there will be two other synchronous online events in which questions about the lecture content will be discussed. The seminar events will take place in person. Whether the group presentations will take place digitally or in person, we will decide in consultation with you and on the basis of the pandemic.

Registration
Registration for this course is required at the examination office or via QISPOS within the first 4 weeks of the semester (by Friday, November 12th, 2021) (examination-relevant course performance).
The number of participants is limited to 30. Due to the limited number of participants at the event, it may happen that not all interested parties can be given a place. A multi-stage selection process is carried out to ensure that the allocation of places is as fair as possible.
First of all there is a ISIS-Registration required for the event. For this purpose, on Monday, October 11th, 2021, at 10 a.m. in ISIS an online registration is activated. This online registration is activated until Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 5 p.m. Master and Bachelor students are recorded in separate lists. Only when all Master’s students have received places will the remaining places be filled with Bachelor’s students. If the number of Master’s students exceeds the maximum number of places, places will initially be given to students who have already completed other courses at the IKM chair. In addition, preference will be given to those students who have not been able to participate in the event in previous years as a Master’s degree. If two students meet the same requirements, the lot decides.
The list of participants (30 students) and the short list of those coming up (10 students) will be available on Monday, October 18th, 2021ISIS published and the students informed by email. The students on the list of participants confirm their participation by Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 at the latest. Otherwise, those waiting will move up accordingly.
