Information and Communication Management

Information Systems Prototyping - Module "(Advanced) Distributed Systems Prototyping"

General Information

The students gain experience in a practical project with partners from business. You will get to know facets of real project work (meetings, decision-making, project documentation, presentation of results, implementation, etc.). You can master complex tasks in the context of the design and evaluation of IT systems in a team-oriented manner. Several practical projects are offered, which fall into up to three categories: practical projects with large companies, with startups and with medium-sized companies. Complex project tasks are worked on in small groups. Specific tasks are set at the beginning of each semester.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with the ISE chair.

The ICM chair is responsible for the startup / e-commerce category.

The partner company this semester is CodeCheck.

Topic: PintAR - Product Ingredient Transparency in Augmented Reality

CodeCheck is a personal and easy-to-use shopping assistant for healthy and sustainable consumption. By scanning the barcode of food or cosmetics, the app shows a rating and product recommendations. The ratings are based on assessments by various experts and organizations, as well as current scientific findings. The aim of the project is the development of an AR application for the synchronous recognition of several products and the presentation of additional information regarding the ingredients.

Course scope: 8 SWS / 12 ECTS
The kick-off will take place digitally this year. Timely registration / application is mandatory for participation.
