Virtual Engineering in Industry (VEI)

1. Module description

This course focuses on product modeling, model analysis and information management within the engineering process. Through industrial use case scenarios, students learn different methods for virtual product creation. The following additional competencies are key within the course curriculum: - design and analysis task completion - team collaboration to achieve project tasks - design review preparation - solution presentation and product verification mindset - successful and problem orientated usage of modern virtual engineering toolsets and methods.

3. Content

The following competencies are key within the course curriculum:

  • successful and problem orientated usage of modern virtual engineering toolsets and methods.

4. Learning objectives

Students learn about product modeling, model analysis and information management within the engineering process using the different methods and tools of systems engineering.

Conducted in English and using realistic industrial project management instruments, the course provides deep insight into the challenges of real industrial life.

Students work in multicultural project teams in an advanced product development project with high-end CAD systems combined with CAE verification as well as systems engineering methods.

5. Target audience

This module is open to all M.Sc. students.

6. Prerequisites

Ability to work in a team and knowledge of English

7. Lecture and practical exercises

There is no traditional lecture. You will participate in interactive

seminars within the first two weeks. After that you will work in teams on your project.
