Dimitra is a trained physician (medical degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki including an exchange semester at the Vienna Medical University) and public health scientist (MScPH from the Charité Medical University Berlin and DrPH on the issue of evidence-based coverage decisions in health care from the TU Berlin). She spent the academic year 2016-2017 in Washington, DC as a Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice.
