Excavation pit for the JaHo project in Berlin

As part of the  Geotechnical Seminar module, a three-day construction site excursion took place from 14.03.2023 to 16.03.2023.

The destination of the excursion was Hamburg on the first day. Here, the construction site of the extension of the U4 underground line was visited. On the following day, the construction site of the Brenner Base Tunnel in Innsbruck was visited. Here, a railway connection is being created through the Brenner massif between Austria and Italy. On the third day, the group visited Munich, where the 2nd main line of the DB Bahn AG is being built. The aim is to increase the capacity of the S-Bahn connections in Munich as well as to enable better public transport connections.

We would like to thank Ms Waeselmann, Mr Schefe and Mr Berg (Hamburger Hochbahn AG) for the organisation and the guided tour of the construction site in Hamburg, Mr Schneider (BBT Tunnelwelten Steinach) and the colleagues on site for the organisation and the guided tour of the construction site in Innsbruck, and Ms Dresel and the colleagues on site of Deutsche Bahn AG for the organisation and the guided tour of the construction site in Munich.
