The laboratory has a storage container in which special samples can be stored under specified climatic conditions. Both the relative humidity and the temperature can be controlled via an integrated air conditioning unit. The main advantage is the correct storage of cohesive special samples. The natural water content is prevented from changing, e.g. due to drying out, and thus also soil mechanical properties related to the water content. The triggering of soil-chemical or soil-biological processes by increasing the ambient temperature is also prevented.
