Methods for Product Development and Mechatronics

Research Campus Mobility2Grid - 2nd Funding Phase

In the second funding phase (2022- 2027), the transformation of mobility and the transport system, taking the energy system into account, will be researched. For this purpose, realizable concepts for low-CO2 traffic and for a low-air pollution and low-noise, but also safe city are being developed. All of this serves to gain knowledge with the help of concrete application examples and the scalability of the overall system. The ultimate goal of the network is the development of efficient and interlinked systems for the climate-neutral city, and M2G is taking on the associated challenges in the transport and energy sectors.

Goals of the sub-project of the TU Berlin:

  • Development of scenarios for the future use of different forms of mobility; Simulation-based investigation of the scenarios with a focus on the traffic effects and environmental effects using the example of the city of Berlin and derivation of requirements for the future energy and transport system.
  • Determination of different stakeholder perspectives and recommendations for action for the participatory further development of network and market-integrated mobility offers.
  • Identification of required and available information systems for economically and ecologically efficient stakeholder relationships for grid and market integration of electromobile storage and charging technologies.
  • Guidance on how to implement multifunctional commercial and mobility hubs (including automated charging technology) and how to integrate multifunctional commercial and mobility hubs into logistical networks and processes.
