Responsibilities

  • Supervision of laboratory practicals
  • Disposal of hazardous substances
  • Laboratory instruction for students, doctoral candidates and visiting scientists
  • Implementation and support of experimental laboratory work
  • Responsible for work under protective gas atmosphere (glove box) and by means of freeze drying
  • Responsible for wet chemical work (acid digestions, extractions using microwave and digiprep)
  • Preparation of solid samples for laser-ICP-mass spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy (polished sections, epoxy mounts)
  • Preparation of aqueous samples for trace element analysis
