Impact assessment methods for life cycle assessments at Daimler AG

For years, Daimler AG has been preparing life cycle assessments for vehicles and vehicle parts in order to analyze the environmental impact of their products. The traditional main focus points are the consequences of emissions in air, water and soil, such as climate change, acidification or near-ground ozone formation.

The EU Commission recently published a proposal as to which impact categories, from the EU's perspective, correspond to the current state of science and technology. This requires Daimler AG to consider how their used methods can be enhanced or modified for the future.
