Mineralogische Sammlungen (Mineralogical Collections)

The Mineralogical Museum of the Technical University of Berlin looks back on a long history since 1781 and is one of the five largest and most important mineralogical collections in the Federal Republic of Germany. The collections consist of a publicly accessible display collection, extensive collections on special mineralogy and mineral systematics, several subject-specific sub-collections, extensive teaching collections and magazine collections.

The Mineralogical Collection consists of over 200,000 specimens, of which selected pieces are displayed in the exhibition of the Mineralogical Museum of the TU (BH building 6th floor). A major thematic priority of the collections is both the classification of minerals and the demonstration of the importance of mineralogy and geology (applied geosciences) in modern society. A specific focus lies on the collection of specimens from Namibia and Hagendorf (Germany).
