Logistics

Global Logistics Management

The globalisation of value creation systems and markets places new demands on logistics. The Global Logistics Management course is intended to take this development into account and to provide better access to an international understanding of logistics. The focus is on acquiring knowledge about logistical influencing factors and interrelationships in internationally active companies.

The ability of companies to procure, produce and distribute their goods internationally and to coordinate activities with value-added partners across different stages is already the basic prerequisite for competitive business in many sectors. Bottlenecks in this area present themselves as obstacles to growth, while companies with special capabilities can generate competitive advantages through special customer benefits.

Learning Objectives

The Global Logistics Management course teaches the basic framework conditions for internationally active companies. First of all, market-specific aspects such as import restrictions, customs regulations and legal aspects of international business activities are considered. Building on this, the challenges and fields of action of global logistics management are taught. Furthermore, industry-specific characteristics are highlighted and corresponding logistics strategies are derived. In addition, practical problems are dealt with in the course in the form of case studies and the complex of topics is critically reflected.

The courses offered take place in the form of an integrated course with a sequence of theory and practically designed exercise blocks in which teaching content is summarised and deepened.
