Denny Medal 2018

The 2018 Denny Medal was awarded to Emil Bayramov, Martin Kada and Manfred Buchroithner for the paper “Monitoring oil spill hotspots, contamination probability modelling and assessment of coastal impacts in the Caspian Sea using SENTINEL-1, LANDSAT-8, RADARSAT, ENVISAT and ERS satellite sensors” in London on 15 March 2019. The citation states:

“The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (InMarEST) is pleased to advise you that you and all contributing authors have been awarded the Institute’s 2018 Denny Medal (Journal of Operational Oceanography), for your paper entitled ‘Monitoring oil spill hotspots, contamination probability modelling and assessment of coastal impacts in the Caspian Sea using SENTINEL-1, LANDSAT-8, RADARSAT, ENVISAT and ERS satellite sensors’ published in the Journal of Operational Oceanography.

The Institute’s Denny Medal (JOO) and a certificate are awarded annually to the most worthy paper published by the Institute in the Journal of Operational Oceanography each year.”
