The lecture Flight Control deals with the special aspects of the controlled "aircraft-pilot" system. The dynamic characteristics of the aircraft and methods to modify these characteristics from a control engineering point of view are presented and analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the general structure of flight control systems (types, actuators and sensors) as well as safety aspects are discussed and the most important types of aircraft controllers (basic, trajectory and default controllers) are taught.
The lecture Flight Control is based on the basic knowledge taught in the lectures Fundamentals of Control Engineering, Flight Mechanics I and Flight Mechanics II and should therefore only be heard after these lectures.
