Aeroelastic Internship from 27.03.23 till 07.04.23

In the module Aeroelastic Practical Course, which takes place as a block course between winter and summer semester, the methods and procedures of aeroelasticity are applied practically. Attendance of the module Aeroelastics I is not mandatory, but facilitates understanding. Fundamentals of aerodynamics and dynamics are assumed. In order to bring all students to the same level, the basics of the description of structural dynamics are repeated in lectures and practical modeling using the FE software Abaqus is introduced. In addition to theoretical model building, experimental modal analysis is an important part of the module. In a static vibration test, students identify the structural dynamics of an aircraft-like structure. The effect of unsteady aerodynamics is explained in detail and students perform a theoretical flutter calculation for a beam. Finally, the results are validated in a wind tunnel test.
