Research Assistants

Research Associate - Project UNICADO-II/TUBCADO-II

Task Description:

  • Development and integration of software modules for the software tool UNICADO
  • Determination of geometric quantities and reference values regarding wing and tail parameters using higher level methods as well as their system and component masses, especially in relation to H2 and blended wing body configurations.
  • Performance of flight simulations with respect to the evaluation according to CS-25 flight characteristics requirements for different aircraft configurations with fossil and H2 based propulsion systems.
  • Derive flight control function requirements as a function of CS-25.
  • Analyze applicability of CS-25 criteria for BWB configurations with respect to stability and derive certification requirements for BWB configurations.

Expected Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (master's, diploma, or equivalent) in aerospace engineering or related field of study.
  • Very good knowledge in the field of flight mechanics and flight control, especially in the areas of modeling, flight simulation and flight performance
  • Knowledge in the field of aircraft design
  • Experience in the field of aircraft certification an advantage (CS-23/CS-25)
  • Very good programming skills in the design and analysis programs MATLAB/SIMULINK and experience in the practical use of these tools
  • Very good programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python or willingness to acquire these independently
