Faculty II - Mathematics and Natural Sciences – considers itself a key body of TU Berlin. It encompasses the fields of mathematics, physics, and chemistry in both research and teaching. The Faculty offers degree programs reflecting these three fields, each containing features specific to TU Berlin. Alongside classical mathematics it is possible to study technomathematics and business mathematics. Besides the basic research-oriented degrees, the study programs in physics and chemistry each offer an application-oriented course of studies with technical characteristics.
In addition to the teaching offerings for its own fields, the Faculty is responsible for providing the foundations in mathematics and natural sciences needed by students from other fields for their studies, most notably in bachelor’s degree programs. Each year more than 10,000 students from over 20 programs take courses offered by Faculty II.
