Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) are funding instruments of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). They develop teaching offers in the area of entrepreneurship, run research and innovation projects, and provide funding for start-ups. They act as independent funding providers with their own legal form and can make calls for research and innovation projects in the areas they cover. TU Berlin is a member of EIT Urban Mobility as well as EIT Digital. Researchers can submit proposals to all calls issued by both KICs. It is also possible to participate as an external third party in other KICs.
