Database Systems and Information Management

DIMA Researchers at EDBT 2023 in Ioannina, Greece

Researchers from the Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) Group at TU Berlin presented a research paper at the 26th International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT 2023) that took place from the 28th through the 31st of March in Ioannina, Greece.

The paper titled "Incremental Stream Query Merging,” by Ankit Chaudhary et al. proposes a new technique called ISQM (incremental stream query merging): an end-to-end solution to identify and maintain sharing among thousands of stream queries. In their paper, the authors show that ISQM scales well for thousands of stream queries, identifies more sharing opportunities in comparison to baseline approaches, and demonstrates resource efficiency during query execution.

The conference program offered a variety of interesting talks, panels, and workshops, as well as opportunities to exchange ideas with researchers and industry professionals from the database systems community, and learn more about the latest developments in the field. Besides the research sessions, conference attendees were offered guided tours to explore the beautiful city of Ioannina and its ancient sites, thereby enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of Ioannina.
