Main areas of work: Management and control of the Center for Junior Scholars. Representation of the CJS within and outside the TU Berlin. Participation in the development and coordination of the promotion of junior scholars at the TU and within the Berlin University Alliance (BUA).
Johannes Moes, political scientist by training, was head of TU-DOC office for doctoral candidates and postdocs from 2017 to 2020 and is in charge of services for doctoral candidates and postdocs within the CJS. Before, he coordinated the internationalization of programmes at Humboldt-University in Berlin, served as management consultant for higher education institutions at HIS in Hanover, and worked at the Social Science Research Center in Berlin.
He is responsible for all fields including consulting (esp. in conflicts), and his specific duties entail the support of applications for funding of research training groups and of the Young Academics Network, agreements on joint PhDs and strategic measures.
Dr. Simone Bartsch, Sociologist, is a consultant for doctoral candidates and postdocs at the CJS. She completed her doctorate in Bremen and worked at the DIW and SOEP, among others. She has been at the CJS since 2019 and was initially responsible for the research on the career paths of female (and male) doctoral candidates at TU Berlin. Since 2024, she is available as a consultant, e.g. for advice on all aspects of doctoral studies and career planning. She is also the TU coordinator for the Femtec GmbH Career-Building Program and also manages the TU Berlin doctoral candidate database.
Dr. Andrea Adams has earned a master and a PhD in history at the HU. She has worked at the Dahlem Research School and at the Graduate School in History and Sociology in Bielefeld.
Since 2019, she organizes the proMotion program for female doctoral researchers.
Dr. Weronika Karle studierte Biologie in Danzig und promovierte an der Charité - Universitätsmedizin, wo sie später auch als Postdoc arbeitete. Sie koordiniert verschiedene Projekte innerhalb der Postdoc Academy (BUA) und stärkt die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Center for Junior Scholars und der Berlin University Alliance.
Susanne Teichmann, graduate computer scientist, was a consultant and deputy head of services for doctoral candidates and postdocs at the CJS and retired from TU Berlin at the end of 2023. However, she will continue to make her decades of institutional experience available to the CJS - probably for the whole of 2024 - in the establishment of a doctoral student representation body in accordance with the Berliner Hochschulgesetz (Berlin Higher Education Act) and the evaluation of the "Administrative Regulations on the Temporary Employment of Academic Staff at TU Berlin".
