Circular Economy and Recycling Technology

Education at the department

The primary task of education in the teaching area of circular economy and recycling technology is to create a process understanding for waste management measures and to describe their influence on the material and resource balance.

The three pillars of the teaching concept are:

  • the technical/engineering fundamentals the economic and legal framework conditions,
  • as well as organizational control instruments,
  • natural scientific understanding of material transformation and material transport.

These are covered in various modules, each with a different focus. Excursions to plants in and around Berlin illustrate the course material. Working on projects at the Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe and the waste-analytical practical course offer students the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice.

A current list of modules at the department can be found at Moses under this link.

Module materials and info as well as the communication runs via the platform ISIS under this link.

Exams will be communicated via the ISIS courses. To network with learners, find learning partners for exams, and exchange on the modules at our chair we offer this course.
