“audit familiengerechte hochschule” Certificate

TU Berlin continues to be “family-friendly” and has set itself many new goals to enable its employees and students to more easily combine their family and professional lives. On 15 March 2018, TU Berlin was once again awarded the certificate of the “audit familiengerechte hochschule” for a further three year years. This is already the fourth renewal of the University’s certificate. The Family Services Office, established in April 2009, coordinates the projects in this area.

TU Berlin has successfully pursued a policy of equality of opportunity for many years. In recognition of its commitment to this issue, it was awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY accolade for the fifth time in 2022. TU Berlin has held the TOTAL E-QUALITY award since 2008 and in 2018 received the then newly introduced Diversity award for the first time. The award is conferred by the TOTAL E-QUALITY association, which was established in 1996 by companies, ministries and organizations with the goal of creating equality of opportunity for women and men in their professional lives.

“Internationalization of Universities” Audit

The “Internationalization of universities” audit conducted by the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) offers independent and systematic support with implementing internationalization measures. Internationalization plays a role in all areas of the University: in studies and teaching as well as in research, in administration and services as well as in management. TU Berlin successfully participated in the second audit cycle, which began in September 2010. In order to continue to further develop its internationalization, the University also successfully completed the “Internationalization” re-audit in 2015-2018.

Partner University of Top-Class Sport

Top athletic achievement and successful studies do not have to be mutually exclusive. This is why in November 2005, TU Berlin concluded a cooperation agreement with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulverband (adh), the Olympiastützpunkt Berlin, and Studentenwerk Berlin to become a “partner university of top-class sport”. The aim of the agreement is to better coordinate training and competitions with studies. Within the scope of its legal possibilities, TU Berlin offers a more flexible organization of studies, assistance with internships, personal support, and individual academic advising.
