Programme
In the PROMOS programme, the Career Service only awards partial scholarships for internships abroad, but not travel grants. The scholarships range between 350 and 550 euros per month. In the PROMOS programme, we only have a limited amount of funding available for self-organised (!) internships lasting at least 6 weeks. The maximum funding period is 6 months.
Eligibility
The following criteria must be met in order for your application to be considered:
- You must be regularly enrolled at TU Berlin.
- Your internship must take place in a country outside of Europe.
- The duration of the internship must be at least 6 weeks. The internship must correspond to full-time employment.
- Your personal PROMOS quota of 6 months per study period has not yet been exhausted.
- The application was submitted completely and on time.
Funding can only be provided if there is no travel warning issued by the Federal Foreign Office for the region in question.
Note to international students: an internship in your home country is not eligible for funding.
Excluded from PROMOS funding are:
- internships at international organisations (e.g. the UN), EU institutions plus institutions and organisations that administer EU programmes. In this case, we recommend the Carlo-Schmid-Programme or the DAAD-Programme Short-term Scholarships for Internships Abroad.
- internships in German Schools Abroad and German-Profile Schools. For teacher training students, the DAAD programme Lehramt.International applies.
Also excluded from PROMOS funding are:
- internships at German embassies and consulates abroad
- internships at the German Humanities Institutes (Max Weber Foundation) and the German Archaeological Institutes
- internships at Goethe Institutes
These internships can also be funded through the DAAD programme Short-term Scholarships for Internships Abroad.
