Contents: X-ray physics is currently undergoing a stormy development.

RöPhy I: The lecture will give an introduction to the basics and fascinating recent developments. Topics: Fundamentals of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter; X-ray sources, in particular synchrotron radiation sources, introduction to the most important experimental methods in X-ray physics, examples of applications.

RöPhy II: Modern X-ray physical methods: X-ray spectroscopy (emission and absorption), photoemission, scattering, nano-imaging (CDI, holography, microscopy), time-resolved measurements, ...

Date: Tuesday 16 - 17:30 in room EW 015

Contents: The seminar deals with current issues in X-ray spectroscopy, with a focus on X-ray fluorescence analysis. Lectures by invited guests give an insight into their research as well as into current issues (see list of lectures). For 15 years, the seminar has served as a common platform for researchers in X-ray spectroscopy from Berlin research institutions and industry. Students interested in this field of research are welcome to attend.

The lectures will be held at the Institute of Optics and Atomic Physics (IOAP), lecture hall EW 015, in hybrid format. Start time is 4:00 pm.
