Dear Colleagues,

After the wonderful first edition of the “International workshop on laboratory-based spectroscopies”, held at Kumpula Campus, University of Helsinki, Finland 2022 we are happy to announce that the second edition of this workshop will take place at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany October 9th to 11th. The focus will be again on laboratory-based X-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy and their application in research.

The workshop will have two parts. First, on October 9th it is planned to have courses and experiments on setups onsite. Mainly, this part of the workshop is aiming at students who want to learn basics of and more about X-ray absorption spectroscopy, but of course it is open to everyone interested. The number of attendees will be limited to around 20 to 25 people.

Second, on October 10th and 11th there will be the possibility for presentations to show current activities in the development of instruments and applications. A poster session will complement talks to give the opportunity for further discussions. All interested persons are welcome to attend and discuss.

We are looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces having a productive and inspiring meeting in Berlin.
