Ulf Schrader holds the chair of Economic Education and Sustainable Consumption and is managing director of the Institute for Vocational Education and Work Studies.
He studied economics, business administration, political sciences and sociology in Göttingen, Dublin and Hannover and holds degrees as "Diplom Ökonom" and "Magister Artium". He did his PhD and his post-doc-degree (Habilitation) at the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
Besides his teaching, he has been leading numerous research projects in the fields of sustainable consumption, consumer education and corporate social responsibility.
Ulf Schrader is vice chairman of the Society for Work, Technology, and Economy in Schools (GATWU), Scientific Director of the Institute for Education in Information Society (IBI) and member of the Editorial Boards of Journal of Consumer Policy and Sustainability: Science, Practice and Policy.
He was Vice President for Teacher Education and Junior Scholars at the TU Berlin and director of the School of Education of TU Berlin (SETUB). In addition, he was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Federal Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and of the Innovation Advisory Board of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
