Heiko Steffens, born in 1938, retired from the chair of "work studies: economy and private households" at the Technische Universität Berlin in September 2003. He studied education and economics in Bonn and Münster. He did his PhD at Teacher Training College in Münster (Dietmar Krafft). He was senior lecturer at the University of Bielefeld for “Economics and related didactics” (Friedrich-Wilhelm Dörge). In 1981 he took the chair of "work studies: economy and private household".
