Topics for a Bachelor or a Master thesis are assigned by Prof. Bürgisser. Usual prerequisites for a Bachelor thesis are the lectures Algebra I & II and a successful presentation in a seminar. The topic of this presentation may already serve as a starting point for the subject of the thesis, but this is not necessary.
For writing your thesis it is recommended to consider the Hints for Writing mathematical Texts.
Important aspects for evaluating a final thesis are, next to content and correctness, the form of presentation, comprehensability and a structured composition. In this regard, textbooks are good role models while lecture notes usually need not to be.
In the following we mention some materials and references, which may be used to gain further experience in writing mathematical texts.
