Geraldine Rauch studied mathematics at the University of Bremen and completed her dissertation at Roche Diagnostics GmbH in Penzberg. From 2009 to 2016 she was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Heidelberg, where she acquired her Venia legendi in medical biometry in 2015. In 2017, she took up an appointment as professor (W3) of medical biometry at the University Medical-Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Just six months later, Rauch came to Berlin to take up a professorship at the Charité. There she served as director of the Institute of Biometry and Clinical Epidemiology as well as vice dean of education (Life and Health Sciences) from 2020 to 2022.
Geraldine Rauch has been president of TU Berlin since 1 April 2022. The president's term of service is four years. Starting 1 November 2022, she is also spokesperson of the Berlin University Alliance (the Alliance of Excellence of FU Berlin, HU Berlin, TU Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin) for a period of two years. In 2022, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz has named her a member of the government’s Future Council.
Geraldine Rauch has written several textbooks and reference books. She is an elected member of the Medicine Review Board for the German Research Foundation and a full member of the Drug Commission of the German Medical Association. Rauch is actively involved in several professional associations, particularly in the areas of advancement of junior scholars, teaching, and didactics.
