Technische Universität Berlin

Technische Universität Berlin University Archives

At Technische Universität Berlin, University Archives catalogs and preserves the historical documents of the entire University and its predecessor institutions. The archive further consists of bequests of former University members as well as collections and museum objects. Since the records of Technische Hochschule Berlin as well as the Bau-, Gewerbe- and Bergakademie were with few exceptions completely destroyed during World War II, a complete record is only available beginning with the founding of Technische Universität Berlin on 9 April 1946. The holdings comprise about 3,000 shelf meters of archive material.

The archive is available to the public and can be used for scientific research as well as for journalistic, personal and official purposes.
