I am a postdoctoral researcher with the Control Systems Group ("Fachgebiet Regelungssysteme") at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Technische Universität (TU) Berlin. I received a PhD degree (Dr.-Ing., with distinction) from TU Berlin in 2021 and a Diploma from RWTH Aachen University in 2011. During my doctoral studies, I was a visiting scholar with the Dynamical Systems, Control, and Optimization Research unit at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy in 2015. Before joining TU Berlin, I worked from 2011 to 2015 as an engineering expert at Younicos AG (now Aggreko plc), Berlin, Germany, developing control algorithms for low-inertia microgrids. I am a member of IEEE as well as the Energy System Transition Network.
My research bridges the gap between methods from automatic control theory and applications in future power systems with highly uncertain and decentralized renewable generation. The overall goal of my work is to enable electric power grids with a very high share of renewable energy sources using automatic control and optimisation. In this context, I am especially interested in
