Dr. Dirk Forschner lehrt und forscht am China Center. Seine Magisterarbeit an der FU Berlin schrieb er zum Thema: Beijing und seine Straßenbahnen (1990); es folgte die Dissertation an der FU Berlin mit dem Thema: Die Fahrmeisterausbildung für Metro Shanghai (1996); tätig als Projektleiter Personalausbildung in den U-Bahn Projekten Shanghai Linie 1 und 2, Guangzhou Linie 1 und 2, Beijing, und Shenzhen; wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im DFG-Projekt „Making Technology Appropriate - German Steam Locomotives in China“ (2011-2014).
