This book serves as a concise summary of our recent conference in April, 2023, featuring researches papers and thought-provoking discussions on urban development. It represents a major step forward at the end of the workshop as well as another milestone – Peer-to-Peer Program in our project.

Am vergangenen Donnerstag, dem 13.04.2023, fand der finale Online-Workshop des Peer-to-Peer-Programms von URBANI[XX] statt. Das Programm konzentriert sich auf Kooperationen zwischen Alumni/ae für eine gemeinsame Publikation zu einem Forschungsthema im Bereich der urbanen und ländlichen Entwicklung in Deutschland und China. Der Workshop bot eine Plattform für die Peers in China und Deutschland, um ihre Forschungsergebnisse und zukünftigen Kooperationsideen auszutauschen.

Nach einer kurzen Begrüßung präsentierten die 15 Peer-Paare ihre Poster und diskutierten umfangreiche Themen wie Geisterstädte, Urbanisierung im Großen Pearl River Delta, Lichtverschmutzung und Landwirtschaft im ländlichen Raum. Es gab auch Q&A-Session und Diskussionen zu diesen Themen.

Nach dem Workshop werden die Artikel der Peers von URBANI[XX] einem Review-Prozess unterzogen und anschließend publiziert.

At the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) (國立清華大學), located in Hsinchu (新竹市), Taiwan, the one-week URBANI[XX] alumni/ae workshop “Future City, Future Village” brought together a group of 40 international scientists and practitioners to introduce their concepts, theories and best-practice examples (October 21st–25th 2019).

The workshop was organized by URBANI[XX], the German-Chinese Alumni/ae Network for Urbanization and Urban Development, which was established in 2017 by the China Center of TU Berlin, Germany and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF).
